Orpheus and Euridice

Composer Ricky Ian Gordon

Composer Ricky Ian Gordon

I’m very excited about my collaboration with distinguished clarinetist Jimmy Gilmore and pianist Yuri Yamamoto as we prepare to present Ricky Ian Gordon’s Orpheus and Euridice this fall. This critically acclaimed piece is a truly engaging setting of the classic Greek myth. Witness the divine power of Orpheus’ music, journey with him to the heights of his blissful love affair with Euridice, and to the depths of loss and back. Multi-media presentation highlights the drama of this deeply moving work. Jimmy Gilmore is retired principal clarinetist for the North Carolina Symphony, and is an adjunct faculty member at Meredith College. Yuri is the Director of Music at the United Universalist Fellowship Unitarian Church in Raleigh. This concert is part of the Spirituality in the Arts series hosted by the Church of the Nativity in Raleigh.

International Young Artist Project

Al Bella Italia! I’m spending my summer in Monte San Savino, in the Tuscany region of Italy to serve on the faculty of the International Young Artist Project.

There, I’ll perform Donna Anna in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni in historic venues in Monte San Savino and Castigilione Fiorentino, conducted by Maestro Romulus Gessi. I’ll also sing the soprano solo for Rossini’s STABAT MATER, conducted by Dr. Brad Pierson, with the Festival di Musica Sacra with Orchestra “Città di Arezzo.
